Nanaimo RCMP charge man with attack on sex trade worker

Nanaimo RCMP say a 41 year old man has been arrested in connection with an alleged sexual assault of a 30 year-old female sex trade worker.

The incident happened in the early morning hours of August 2nd.

RCMP say they had a 911 call from a woman at a home on Nicol St.  She told police that, over the course of two hours, she’d physically and sexually assaulted by a customer.   They say when officers got there they found the woman in obvious distress.  She’d also suffered some bruising and was taken to Nanaimo Regional General Hospital.

About a half-hour later RCMP arrested a suspect at a home on Strickland St.  He’ll be appearing in  Nanaimo Provincial court on September 23rd to face one count of Sexual Assault.
