Suspect in Nanaimo WFP mill shooting back in court Aug 5

The suspect in the April 30th shooting at the Nanaimo Western Forest Products mill made another brief court appearance on Tuesday.

47-year-old Kevin Addison appeared by video link from the detention centre in Victoria where he’s being held.

Addsion is facing two counts of first degree murder in the deaths of Michael Lunn and Fred McEachern, and two count of attempted murder. Five of Lunn’s family members looked on from the front row of the courtroom, all wearing red shirts in honour of Lunn’s signature work-wear.

Addison’s lawyer asked for more time, saying a “large disclosure” is happening in a week or so. The judge accepted the request, and also renewed an order barring Addison from contacting a list of about a dozen people.

Addison will make another video appearance in Nanaimo on August 5, 2014.
