It’s farmers market day in Gibsons, and the people behind the Gibsons Public Market say the response to their inaugural season has been overwhelming.
Private backers, with help from the Town and a big fundraising campaign bought the old Yacht Club on Gower Point road late last year.
Nicholas Sontag is one of those private backers. He says the response to the farmers market, and other events, shows their vision for what should come next is achievable. A vision he outlined this week in an update for Gibsons Council.
Sontag says their newly formed Board of Governors will be looking at how to raise the money needed for that expansion, which he figures will cost around two million dollars.
