Is a New Highway on the Sunshine Coast Realistic?

The Sunshine Coast Regional District board is sending a letter to the province about the idea of a new highway from Langdale to Sechelt.

Robin Merriott, the spokesperson for the Highway Society made a presentation to the regional district board about this idea.

What the Society is looking for ultimately, is support, support for a new, state-of-the-art scenic highway that will take motorists from Langdale to Sechelt.

The motion passed eight to one, but a few directors wanted to see more community consultation.

West Howe Sound director Mark Hiltz was quick to point out that it took half a century to build the Langdale bypass.
