With the recent heavy rains and winds, there’s been some localized flooding.
The City of Nanaimo says to avoid problems residents should ensure their driveway culverts and private drains are clear of leaves and debris.
Sandbags and sand is available to residents at the Public Works Yard on Labieux Road if needed.
Public Works is asking people to report any storm sewer back ups.
Those who use parks and trails are reminded to take care and use caution when using trails, boardwalks, stairs and bridges.

Many of the trails and even playground equipment are wet and slippery this time of year.
In addition, the recent weather systems may have led to broken branches and other debris on the trails and in the parks making the terrain hazardous.
