Tour de Rock arrives in Nanaimo

The Tour de Rock has rolled into Nanaimo, as the riders get ready to start their second week on the road.
The riders are making several stops in the city Monday, before heading south just after lunch, including a BBQ at Maffeo Sutton Park at 11:30 and a visit to the Nanaimo detachment at 12:15 (you can see the full schedule for week 2 here)

There was a scary moment for the riders Sunday, when two of the cyclists collided on the stretch from Tofino to Ucluelet.
There were no serious injuries, but one of them will be spending the rest of the Tour travelling in a car with the support team instead of on his bike.
The Tour de Coast, with Sunshine Coast RCMP riders Kevin Shepherd and Steve Kahng wrapped up last Thursday.  The Tour raised more than $200,000 — a little over $42,000 of it from the Sunshine Coast Red Serge Gala.
