Harper rallies supporters in Countenay-Alberni

It’s going to be a quiet day for most of the federal party leaders… after the Conservative, NDP, Liberal and Green leaders all spent time campaigning in BC Thursday.

Stephen Harper of the Conservatives made his first campaign stop on the Island yesterday for a rally with supporters in the ridings of Courtenay-Alberni and North Island-Powell River.

Harper stressed the importance of the BC vote, saying he expects the party that forms government won’t be decided before the results are known here.

He also touched on familiar campaign themes, including security.

Harper did not take questions from reporters.

And, while the supporters were enthusiastic, Harper was also greeted by protesters after touching down in Comox.
