Oceanside RCMP arrest 2 in theft case; searching for stolen dirt bikes in another case

Oceanside RCMP say tips from the public helped them nab 2 suspects, after a lengthy investigation into thefts in Oceanside and Nanaimo.

RCMP say the search of a home in Qualicum Beach early Tuesday morning turned up stolen property.

A 29 year old woman and a 27 year old man who lived at the home are now facing charges.

And, Oceanside Mounties are reminding people to make sure they’ve got recreational and power equipment properly secured after the theft of a pair of dirt bikes (shown below) from a rural property in the Dashwood area last weekend.

Police say the bikes were held by a cable lock, but the thieves cut it and made off the bikes sometime between 8:30 in the morning and 8:30 at night on May 24th.

“Please ensure all recreational equipment and motorized tools such as pumps, generators and chainsaws are securely locked. Also, be sure to take note of all serial and or vehicle identification numbers as this will greatly increase the chances of your property being found and returned to you,” says Cpl. Jesse Foreman

If you have any information about this crime, please call the Oceanside RCMP at (250) 248-6111 or report anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 1(800) 222-8477
