Name change for Saint Mary's Hospital in the works

It looks like the BC Cabinet is going to allow a name change for Saint Mary’s Hospital in Sechelt.

Ealier this year, the Sechelt First Nation, which donated land for the hospital, put forward the idea of a new name to reflect their contribution.

Vancouver Coastal Health launched a public consultation, but the ultimate decision rests with Victoria.

Speaking on Coast TV this week, Sechelt Chief Calvin Craigan said the Health Minister has indicated it’s moving forward.

Craigan says everybody involved is now working on the details, so it’s likely to be a while yet before the name is ready to be revealed.
