Family fun night in Nanaimo will feature drone show, soccer viewing party

Nanaimo will host a waterfront drone show, live music and a soccer viewing party as part of a family fun night later this month.

The free event will feature games, face painting, food trucks and inflatables on June 26 from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m.

“This family fun night is a wonderful opportunity for residents and visitors to come together and enjoy an evening of music, entertainment and community spirit along our beautiful waterfront,” said Leonard Krog. “Events like this help create memorable experiences for families while celebrating the vibrancy and connection that make Nanaimo such a special place to live.”

Performances by Chris Noel and the Burning House from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. and New Road Echo from 6:45 to 7:45 p.m. are part of the city’s Concerts in the Park series.

A viewing party for the soccer match between New Zealand and Belgium begins at 8 p.m. The event is funded through a provincial grant, while the drone show over the waterfront is sponsored by the Nanaimo Foundation’s Stanley de Vos Fund.
