Nanaimo RCMP are investigating an assault from this morning.
Police say the incident happened in Maffeo Sutton Park, located at 100 Comox Road in Nanaimo, where a 58-year-old man was assaulted with syringes in the park washroom at 10:00 a.m.
The man suffered wounds to his face and abdomen, with the two assailants fleeing the scene.
The man, a city employee, provided a detailed statement to police before being taken to Nanaimo Regional Hospital.
The suspects are described to be caucasian men, with one of them standing 5 feet 10 inches tall, has a red beard, wearing a red coat, jeans, and a large medallion around his neck.
The second suspect has dark hair, wearing dark clothes, and suffered facial injuries during the attack.
Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident or have information on the suspects to call them at 250-754-2345.
