The annual Island Clean Up program is underway, and the SCRD says they have planned several events throughout the summer to help get rid of waste.
The program is a residential garbage and recycling collection service for island residents on Anvil, Gambier, Keats, as well as islands surrounding Thormanby, Trail, Hardy and Nelson.
The district says several events are planned for July and August to collect garbage and scrap metal for recycling and they will also include mattresses, boxsprings, fridges and freezers.
