Downtown Nanaimo will see some road closures as the city gets transformed into a major Hollywood production.
According to the Downtown Nanaimo Business Association, three sections of the downtown core will be closed from Apr. 22 to May. 31 in three phases
They say Wharf Street and access to Diana Krall Plaza will see closures from Commercial Street will be closed to both vehicles and pedestrians during the first phase, and the second phase will shut down Skinner Street’s 200 block, with Harbour Front Parkade acces remaining open.
The final phase of closures will happen in late May, and the business association says it will close Commercial Street, affecting businesses and some parkade entrances, alongside prior closures.
