A collision near Woodgrove Centre in Nanaimo has claimed the life of an 80-year-old man after he was hit by a pickup truck.
Police say they responded along with BCEHS and the Fire department to the incident that happened at approximately 1:40 this afternoon in the parking lot in front of the Walmart when the 21-year-old driver collided with the 80-year-old.
RCMP add drugs and alcohol have been ruled out as contributing factors in the crash but say they have seized the truck, and it’s expected to undergo a maintenance inspection to check for defects.
