Update from Nanaimo RCMP as of Jan 4, 2024 at 1:47 p.m.: The missing youth has been found safe and sound.
Nanaimo RCMP is asking for help to locate a 17-year-old Lower Mainland resident who was supposed to return home just after New Year’s Day.
Police say Leela Scarff-Sparrow may be staying at an Air-BnB in Nanaimo around Departure Bay, but an extensive search has not turned up any trace of her.
Scarff-Sparrow is described as a non-white youth, 5 feet 1 inch tall and 110 pounds with long blonde/brown hair and brown eyes.
If anyone has information on her whereabouts, they are asked to call Nanaimo RCMP’s non-emergency line at 250-754-2345.
