A Nanaimo Supreme Court judge will continue hearing arguments this week in a Nanaimo developer’s application for an injunction against protestors trying to stop a project in Linley Valley.
Mount Benson Developments went to court late last year accusing those protestors of trespassing and vandalism. They’re asking for damages as well as the injunction.
Nanaimo NDP MLA Leonard Krog met recently with some of the opponents of the development. He says the situation with Linley Valley is an example of a problem that’s coming up more and more; areas people thought were public or protected are not.
This week’s court hearing is expected to focus mainly on the counterclaim against Mount Benson Developments by well known activist Brunie Brunie. The hearing is set for Thursday morning.
