Nanaimo RCMP discover body inside of burnt south end home

The body of a person has been found in the remains of a south end Nanaimo home destroyed by a fire, and RCMP have deemed it suspicious.

The fire at a home on Athletic Street was reported yesterday, at around 5pm. 

Fire crews managed to contain the fire to the home and within forty minutes, the blaze had been extinguished. Fire crews then entered the home and located a deceased adult male. 

The discovery of the body was deemed suspicious and was turned over to the Nanaimo RCMP Serious Crime Section for investigation.
