Nanaimo senior missing after trip UPDATE: Now found

Nanaimo RCMP are seeking the public’s assistance in finding a 79 year-old man.

Roy Olson who has not been heard from since July 25th, when he told his family that he was going to travel to Campbell River, Gold River, and then make his way to Port Hardy. 

His family said that he normally goes for 4 -5 days and that he has never been gone this long. As a result, they are extremely worried for his safety and well-being.

Olson left Nanaimo driving his white Dodge camper van with the BC plate MN743L. 

Olson has no cell phone and is traveling with his tan and black colored dog Rhodesian Ridgeback dog. His family says he likes to hike along trails with his dog and if possible, he avoids crowds and campgrounds.
