Health Authorities say even if it's a bit cooler you still need your heat smarts

The worst of the heat may have passed, but Health Authorities are telling people not to get careless about protecting themselves.
While some people can retreat to their air conditioned offices, others work outside, and are faced with the risk of heat stroke.
North Island MHO Dr Chairmaine Enns says anyone working or exercising outside should be careful, as temperatures stay in the high 20s.
Enns says a good rule of thumb is to drink 2-4 glasses of water for every hour you’re outside.
Health Authorities are also asking people take time to check on the elderly or vulnerable to make sure they’re coping OK with the heat…
