Sunshine Coast RCMP launch Counter Attack

Sunshine Coast RCMP kicked off their summer Counter Attack campaign on the weekend, along with other RCMP detachments across the province.

Crashes linked to impaired driving increase during the summer, so police are putting extra effort into getting impaired drivers off the roads.

Sunshine Coast RCMP issued one 90-day-Immediate Roadside Prohibition, three 3-day Immediate Roadside Prohibitions and two prohibitions related to drug-impaired driving. They also issued a variety of other tickets, including violations for no insurance, no driver’s license, failing to register a vehicle and speeding.

On average, 96 people die every year in BC in crashes related to impaired driving.
