Sunshine Coast RCMP are crediting a quick-thinking kayaker with helping rescue a canoeist who got into trouble in Davis Bay.
It happened around 6 Sunday evening.
A 67 year old man had canoed out into the Bay to retrieve a crab trap, and ended up flipping the boat as he tried to haul it in. The man couldn’t right the canoe…
But luckily the kayaker spotted what was happening and paddled out to tow the man and his canoe back to shore.
The canoeist wasn’t hurt.
