Southern Railway says its work with the Nanaimo Port Authority on an excursion train for cruise ship visitors goes hand-in-hand with the return of passenger service on the E&N.

The federal and provincial governments and 5 Island Regional Districts are ready to commit 20 million dollars as soon as the deal between VIA, SRY and the Island Corridor Foundation is signed.
