The Nanaimo RCMP are reporting they have located the owner of 4 rifles that were seized under suspicious circumstances.
After hearing news of the rifles, a 52-year-old Nanaimo man called the investigating officer and after some discussion, the officer was satisfied the rifles belonged to him.
The owner confirmed he reported them stolen on May 9th during a Break and Enter to a storage unit located on his McCullough Road property in Nanaimo.
Coincidentally, the unit broken into is located about 500 metres from where the 23-year-old suspect was seen with the rifles.
