The snow has made it difficult for drivers to get around the Sunshine Coast and in Nanaimo.
School District 46 and 68 have both decided to keep the schools closed Monday.
The side roads are slippery and emergency crews have been kept busy.
Environment Canada has issued a snowfall warning for both the Sunshine Coast and East Vancouver Island.
10-25cm of snow can be expected in some areas.
