MLA’s ready to get back to work in Victoria

MLA’s are rolling up their sleeves preparing to get back to work this week.

The Legislature’s spring sitting starts Tuesday.

Powell River-Sunshine Coast MLA Nicholas Simons said the session will kick off with a throne speech.

“We’ve obviously got issues to deal with in trying to counteract some of the terrible decisions that were made with the previous government. We’ve got the ongoing problem with ICBC, now we see major debt with BC Hydro which the previous government allowed to accrue.”

Nanaimo NDP MLA-elect Sheila Malcolmson said she’s looking forward to working on affordable housing, health care, education and more.

“I think we are going to see as well, quite a bit of expansion of the work on the climate change, Clean BC plan that was announced.”
