The Port of Nanaimo has chosen a permanent chief executive officer.
Ian Marr, who has been sharing the position with Mike Davidson over the past several months, has agreed to take the top job.
Marr, a Certified General Accountant and Chartered Professional Accountant, has been working at the Port since 1987.
Marr says his immediate goals are to proceed with current initiatives including the Vehicle Processing Centre that is due to open next month, and develop more business for the Port and employment in the community.
Davidson, meanwhile, will become the chief operating officer.
