Sunshine Coast RCMP are saying falling asleep at the wheel probably caused an accident in Gibsons.
It happened on North Road, around 3:20 Sunday afternoon.
RCMP say a car veered off the road, hitting a street sign so hard it went flying and ended up impaling a tree. Then the car itself hit a tree and was forced back onto the road.
Luckily the driver, a 50 year old man from Thailand, escaped with only minor injuries to his shoulder and leg.
Police say he won’t be facing any charges.
