Food Bank expects to hand out 2,500 Christmas hampers

Over the Christmas season, Loaves and Fishes, in partnership with the Salvation Army, is looking to help about 5,000 people meet their basic food needs.

Executive Director of the Food Bank, Peter Sinclair said they are anticipating handing out 2,500 Christmas hampers too.

Sinclair said the Food Bank is accepting donations at the warehouse and has beefed up the pick ups at donation bins around town because they are filling up faster as people get into the holiday spirit.

Sinclair says people can sign up for a hamper until this Saturday.

He says volunteers are needed to help right through to the new year.
