Sunshine Coast forestry companies in full compliance

The Forest Practices Board has completed an audit of A & A Trading and Terminal Forest Products and found both companies in full compliance with their Forest Licence.

The license is located on the Sunshine Coast with activities spread across several areas near Sechelt and Powell River, including Salmon Inlet, the Sechelt Peninsula, Ramsey Arm, West Redonda Island and Bute Inlet.

During the two year audit period A & A harvested 37 cutblocks and replanted 43 cutblocks, constructed 52 kilometres of road and eight bridges, and maintained 376 kilometres of road and 59 bridges.

Board Chair said A & A is fully meeting all of its legal obligations in an operating area that is largely rugged and remote but is subject to several land-use and legal orders surrounding old growth forest, recreation sites and trails and habitat for wildlife including the marbled murrelet and coastal tailed frog.
