Seniors shaken after home invasion

Nanaimo RCMP is investigating after two seniors were tied up in their home while a trio of suspects ransacked it.

Mounties said the incident happened this (Tues) morning around 2:30.

The seniors, a married couple in their 70’s, told police they were asleep in their home on Garner Crescent when they woke to three men inside their house.

One of the suspects struck the man in the forehead with a blunt object and knocked him to the ground.

Both residents were tied up while the suspects proceeded to help themselves to bank and credit cards, personal effects and jewelry before driving off in their 2008 Lexus IS250 with BC plate 044TCV (stock photo below).

Paramedics took the man to the hospital after he suffered a cut to his head and the wife was not hurt but police say she was traumatized by the ordeal.

Mounties said based on interviews with the victims and certain things said by the suspects, investigators believe the suspects mistakenly entered the wrong home.
