Moysey and Thomson’s bid for Mayor of Gibsons

William Moysey is one of four candidates who believe they are the right person to become the next Mayor of Gibsons.

Moysey who moved to the community three years ago and has a background in performing arts explained why he wants to run and what issues he wants to tackle.

“I think we need to get on top of the people that are coming. We’ve got a lot of people moving here and we’ve got ever more tourism happening. And it would be nice to if we could figure out a way to make more money out of that.”

Leslie Thomson is also one of the candidates who will be throwing his hat into the ring for the Mayoral race in Gibsons.

Thomson who is a local business owner says going into this election noted he understands there are some contentious issues that will be brought up.

However, if he was to be elected as Mayor he wants to bring the community together as he feels the town is currently divided about a variety of issues.

“It’s important to me as an individual to bring communities together. For whatever reason, that may be whether it’s infrastructure, development or even the issue surrounding water. And me being a business owner, I think having a small business in a small town can have its challenges”Blake Macleod was not available for comment.
