Sechelt Councillor Darnelda Siegers is vying to become the next Mayor of Sechelt.
Darnelda Siegers who has been a councillor for two terms says she anticipated Mayor Bruce Milne would be seeking a re-election and she believes a little competition is good for the community.
“I welcome that Bruce has announced his intentions to seek a re-election and in October residents will have the opportunity to choose,” says Siegers.”
“In the meantime, I’m still inviting and welcoming others who are considering running for the election to put their name forward for Councillor or Mayor.”
Siegers adds she has the leadership experience and she believes the community is looking for a vision that they can believe in and see show up.
“I’ve heard Sechelt has so much potential for many years and I think it’s time for us to realize some of that potential.”
Siegers says they’re in the process of finalizing her campaign. They’re going to be launching that in the coming weeks and the public will be invited to come out and hear details at that time.
