Heavy statue goes missing in Lantzville

RCMP in Nanaimo is looking for a 300 pound Chinese Terracotta statue that went missing sometime overnight Tuesday.
Police say it was in the yard of a home located in the 7000 block of McGill Road in Lantzville.

It’s solid concrete, about 40 inches tall and stained to look dark bronze.

At the time of the theft, there was a wooden sign hanging off the neck of the statue which read Spoiled Rotten Cats Live Here.
It is the second piece of artwork stolen in the region.
Last weekend, the 4-foot tall and 5-foot wide aluminum dragon sculpture, weighing about 75 pounds and, displayed in Maffeo Sutton Park disappeared without a trace.
