Gibsons town councillor Charlene San Jenko says she’s excited to be nominated for a YWCA Women of Distinction award.
The organization has released a list of 60 nominees in a host of categories.
San Jenko is nominated in “Health and Wellness” for the work she does through her company PowHERhouse, which she describes as a 15 year labour of love. As the name suggests the focus is on helping women succeed; using everything from personal fitness to business coaching.
San Jenko says it’s an especially big thrill to be nominated, because she’s a long time admirer of the Women of Distinction program and helped create a similar award to honour volunteers on the Sunshine Coast.
The awards will be handed out a June 3rd gala in Vancouver.
