Homeless set up shop in Nanaimo again

A new homeless encampment has gone up in Nanaimo.

Organizers are calling it Discontent City and say it’s the result of false promises from B.C. Housing.

An advocate for the homeless says the camp has set up for the long haul and they want drinking water, washroom facilities and garbage collection at the site.

It’s set up at the corner of Esplanade and Front Street on the south downtown waterfront area.
