BC Ferries expecting increased traffic

Ferry traffic is increasing with the summer just around the corner.

BC Ferries spokesperson Deborah Marshall says if you do plan on taking the ferry you should check for current conditions.

She says if there is ever a case where there are too many vehicle waits, what they’ll do is send an additional ferry to get the stranded customers.

The additional sailing that went from Langdale to Horseshoe Bay left just after midnight and had over 230 passengers on board.

BC Ferries also launched the trial preferred loading program earlier this year and Marshall says it has been going well and the program hasn’t interfered with their on-time performances for route 3.
