The Nanaimo Economic Development Corporation took a look back at 2013 during their AGM Thursday afternoon.
CEO Sasha Angus says it was a banner year; they helped secure a deal to build a new Conference Centre hotel and competed Nanaimo’s first ever economic indicator study.
He says more new initiatives are still to come in 2014.
Angus says they’re also working closely with the Nanaimo Port Authority to attract more cruise ships to the area. Only 2 are planning to visit this season.
