It appeared many motorists don’t know the rules at intersections when the traffic lights are not working.
That became evident during the recent power outages as motorists continued to barrel down the TransCanada right through those dark intersections.

Suetter says if other motorists appear to be racing right through the intersection, it’s a good idea to put on your hazard lights to help warn motorists behind you of your intentions and come to a complete stop.
He says often, if some motorists start to do that, it will start a chain reaction and others will follow.
