Bruce Milne, who is the Mayor of Sechelt is now the Board Chair of the Sunshine Coast Regional District.
Milne says the direction he’ll be taking will be from the board members because he wants the elected officials to be the central authority and the people who are pushing for change.
Another issue Milne wants the board to look closer at is the whole relationship between rural areas and the municipal governments.
He says we need to remember why regional districts were created and make sure the balance between the contributions from municipalities and rural areas are balanced the way they should be.
