Since 1991, Literacy Central Vancouver Island has matched more than 3,700 learners with more than 840 volunteer tutors.
Literacy tutor coordinator Jacqueline Webster says the organization has just finished training 21 new tutors who have stepped up to help people improve their basic literacy skills.
Webster says now they are looking for learners…..
Webster says the tutors can help learners write assessments to get into courses, help them upgrade their skills to write a driver’s license exam or just read to their children.
