For an average driver the annual annual blended increase between basic and optional auto insurance purchased through ICBC will be 8 per cent or 130 dollars.
Attorney General David Eby says for those motorists who only insure their car or truck with basic insurance the increase will be less than 5 dollars a month…..
On top of the increase, Eby says he’s instructed ICBC to begin a pilot project to evaluate distracted driving reduction technologies….
Other measures include rolling out 24-hour red-light cameras at high-collision intersections.
ICBC had their largest financial loss in the organization’s history last year, losing more than half-a-billion dollars in 12 months.
