The BC Chamber of Commerce notes they want to see a thriving economy but they’d also like to see businesses being encouraged to grow, invest and hire more people.
President/CEO of the chamber Val Litwin says a 30 percent increase over four years for labour and payroll is significant and they understand issues that arise with the increase.
Litwin says they’re not opposed to the minimum wage going up but it’s about how the government does it and making sure that it’s not done in a shockingly fast way that it negatively impacts people.
