A 25 year old man was arrested by police within minutes of stealing a bike from a 13 year old boy at knife point.
Nanaimo RCMP say the boy and a friend were confronted by the man last Sunday afternoon in the alleyway near Farquar and Nicol Street.
The suspect is said to have produced a knife, demanded the boy turn over his bike, he knocked the victim to the ground and then rode off on the bike.
The father of the boy told police his son and friend, who were able to provide a good description of the suspect, were not injured but were traumatized by the ordeal.
Within minutes of the robbery, one of the attending officers located the suspect with the bicycle just 4 blocks from the scene of the robbery and arrested him.
