Earth Hour losing its impact?

British Columbians have turned in their worst showing for Earth Hour since the event started, and locally we slipped just as badly.

BC Hydro says electricity use was down 65 megawatt hours between 8:30 and 9:30 Saturday night.  Last year the drop was about 120 mW/h.

Whistler led the province with a redcution of 6 per cent.  Nanaimo was down 1.7 per cent.  Sechelt saw a 1.2 per cent drop.

Last year the reductions were 5.3 per cent for Nanaimo and 4.9 per cent for Sechelt.
