Chamber prepares for debate

The Greater Nanaimo Chamber of Commerce is calling for questions from the public in advance of a debate for by-election candidates.
Chamber CEO and president, Kim Smythe says all of the candidates, whose contact information was available, have been invited to participate…..
Smythe says anyone who wants to submit a question to the Chamber for the candidates can do so now.
The debate goes Tuesday, June 27th at the Beban Park Social Centre.
The doors open at 6 and the public is welcome to come meet the candidates before the actual debate starts at 7.
There are 13 candidates in the running for the Nanaimo City council seat that became vacant when Wendy Pratt resigned.
They would sit until the next civic election in the fall of 2018.
The by-election goes July 8th.
