CBS is encouraging new donors to step up

Tomorrow is World Blood Donor Day and it is National Blood Donor Week this week.
This year, Canadian Blood Services is focused on a critical need for blood donations and is urging Canadians to make an appointment right away to donate before July 1st.
CBS Director of Donor Relations, David Patterson says the inventory of blood products is very low….
Patterson says one-in-two Canadians will need blood at some point in their life and during the summer regular donors are often busy and donating blood can fall on their list of priorities.
He says new donors are always welcome and are especially needed as many current donors are getting older with some even moving from donating to becoming a recipient.
Only about 400,000 Canadians are blood donors.
To book an appointment today, locate a clinic, check your eligibility and more, download the GiveBlood app or visit blood.ca.
