Five facing charges following drug bust in Nanaimo

Five suspects, ranging in age from 18 to 39, are facing charges following a drug bust in Nanaimo.
Nanaimo RCMP with help from the Vancouver Island Emergency Response Team carried out two search warrants, one a central Nanaimo motel and one in a home on Beavercreek Crescent today (Thurs).
The warrants netted police two ounces of suspected opioids, three ounces of cocaine, 8 and a half ounces of methamphetamine, numerous weapons and over 24,000 dollars in cash.
During the search police found a Tazer, cross bow, numerous knives, batons, replica guns and an Uzi pellet gun and ammunition.

Of the 5 arrested, two remain in custody while the others have been released on various conditions and are expected to return to court in late June.

The suspects are facing charges which include Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking.
