The District of Sechelt says it jumped the gun in announcing a ban on things like plastic shopping bags.
Sechelt had thought it would be required to ban the material, known generally as “plastic film”, as part of the Multi Material British Columbia initiative.
But the District says they will be able to keep taking the plastic film in the blue bins while they take a closer look at just how MMBC will fit into the curb-side collection system in Sechelt.
