The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a man and woman who died in a fire in a home in Ladysmith on Saturday, March 8.
They were 56-year-old Herbert Charles Lainchbury and 46-year-old Becky Ann Lafontaine.
A neighbour noticed flames coming from the home on Pictou Road in Ladysmith around 3:30pm on Saturday and called 911. When the fire department arrived, the home was fully engulfed in flames. The bodies were found in the home once the fire was put out.
The BC Coroners Service, RCMP and fire officials are continuing to investigate these deaths. The families of both victims are aware of their deaths and are asking for privacy.
