Ferry Coalition taking "no cuts" message to the Legislature

The BC Ferry Coalition says Tuesday’s protest against ferry cuts is going to attract people from as far up the coast as Haida Gwaii as well as bus-loads from the Sunshine Coast, Vancouver Island, Gabriola, the Gulf Islands, and even the Lower Mainland.

The Coalition’s Jef Keighley says the march on the Legislature is going to send a strong message, and show they’ve got some high profile political support.

They’re planning to follow up with protests at the local level on the 15th and keep up the pressure right to the next election.

Transportation Minister Todd Stone, meanwhile, is telling media in his home riding in Kamloops he’s not backing down, and BC Ferries will have to find $19-million in savings.
