Ferry Coalition taking "no cuts" message to the Legislature

The BC Ferry Coalition says Tuesday’s protest against ferry cuts is going to attract people from as far up the coast as Haida Gwaii as well as bus-loadsĀ from the Sunshine Coast, Vancouver Island, Gabriola, theĀ Gulf Islands, and even the Lower Mainland.

The Coalition’s Jef Keighley says the march on the Legislature is going to send a strong message, and show they’ve got some high profileĀ political support.

They’reĀ planning to follow up withĀ protests at the local level on the 15th and keep up the pressure right to the next election.

Transportation Minister Todd Stone, meanwhile,Ā is tellingĀ media in his home riding in Kamloops he’s not backing down, and BC Ferries will have to find $19-million in savings.
